Day 8

Brewed a mug of Pomegranate Oolong and put some honey in it. It's some honey BLEND my mum got at a store. That means its got honey in it, but it's mostly corn syrup. I have some buckwheat honey I bought last winter I've been eager to try. It's a really dark honey and so it's got more antioxidants than say, clover honey. And plus it's a little harder to find because stores mostly stock clover and wildflower honey /: Buckwheat is supposed to be the best for a sore throat and I read that it has a very strong flavor. I hope I like it, I love honey!

4:44PM: My mom returned home today. I told her about my blog, and she said she would help me drink tea, but I told her that it was a personal mission and that she could drink tea to help me finish the tea I have but not to add to my counter haha. I brewed another mug of Pomegranate Oolong and a mug of some genmaicha for mum. I have 5 more Pomegranate Oolong teabags left I think.

I watched Lady Gaga's premiere for Alejandro today at noon. I feel like maybe I'm too simple to understand it. I felt like I was in over my head when I pressed play. It was good. The direction and the camerawork, I felt was superb. I can't really discern the message from it, all I know is that it's very powerful and political. In an interview she said that it was about her relationship with her gay friends, like how she can't find their qualities in a straight man. Kristin and I were discussing how that was the case when she was in the crowd of half-naked men in mushroom/bowl cuts.

I also had to buy flowers for my mum today. I went to the florist and he had only one bouquet of red roses and so I settled. They looked ok. He said they were yesterday's shipment so they were fresh. While he was arranging them, they kept falling apart so he asked if I wanted to get a different set. I told him I'd come back later, and he told me that there would be a new shipment later that day in about an hour. Then I went back later and the shipment still wasn't in. He said 15 minutes, so I stuck around and watched a bee pollinate one of the flowers and looked at orchids. I thought it was really cool how they bloomed and how different they are from other flowers. Eventually I heard a lot of crinkling inside the shop, and it was because the florist was wrapping the flowers up. He gave me a $2 discount because I needed $20 back because my mom asked me to have some money ready because she didn't have enough for the taxi. She ended up stopping at a bank and getting some cash hahaha. The white balance on my phone is really sucky, but here are some photos anyway:

I thought the ribbon swirl was a cute touch.
